McDaniel College Budapest

McDaniel Research Prize 2010
McDaniel Research Prize competition concluded

On Wednesday May 12, the three finalists of the McDaniel Research vied during an Open Forum to take home first prize—the possibility to publish their work, and a dinner at the famous Rosenstein Restaurant. The finalists and their papers included:
  • Jennifer Garnett
Abolishing Human Trafficking: The Unification of Activism and the Economy

  • Gabrielle Hollows
The Change of War Correspondents since the Nineteenth Century

  • Joo Salviano Carmo
One Out of Many: Many were too few!

For 15 minutes, each finalist defended his or her paper before a jury of faculty members and alumni. In the end, Joo Salviano Carmo won the prize for a paper that concerned the placing of an interview of a Holocaust survivor within its proper historical, literary and psychological context.

The College congratulates all three finalists, and all of the contributors to this year' s competition!
